The Urban Community contributes in all kinds of ways to the development of our society. It unites creativity, participation and collaboration, entrepreneurship and internationalisation. Examples of this can be found in the world of culture, entertainment and sport. Increasingly more studies show that Urban, through its social strength, can produce social and economic yield.
Prior to Dear Future, students from Fontys ACI IEMES will get to work on the following questions:
– How can you describe the Urban Community?
– What business does the Urban Community realize?
– What (new) business models does the Urban Community use?
– What communication and marketing strategies support the business?
Based on these questions, the students will formulate advice for organisations and entrepreneurs who are active in the Urban Community: how can they develop a successful business case? They will also make recommendations to the local authorities: how can the government facilitate or support the Urban Community?
The Urban Community – Urban Business meeting programme consists of a Dragons’ Den and an Urban Dialogue. During the Dragons’ Den, students from Fontys ACI IEMES will present their recommendations to a jury consisting of representatives of Fontys ACI, Hall of Fame and the local council. The student(s) with the best idea wins concert tickets. The Urban Dialogue offers the audience the opportunity to have an informal discussion with the student.
